With an expert medical team and technologically advanced diagnostic treatment options, our neurological services provide quality care. Our services include:

Stroke (Primary Stroke Centers)

Across Volusia and Flagler County, Florida Hospital serves as a Primary Stroke Center featuring “Brain Attack Teams”. Similar in philosophy as a trauma team, our team is comprised of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel and a select group of specialty-trained and certified Emergency Department physicians and nurses – as well as neurologist, radiologists and neurosurgeons. Emergency Medical Services works directly with Florida Hospital to provide rapid transportation to the Emergency Department. The coordination and effective communication between the two is the first line of defense with the Brain Attack Program, available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, to provide prompt, efficient diagnosis and treatment for stroke victims.

Brain Tumors

Patients in the Brain Tumor Program benefit from the combined expertise of neuro and oncology specialists who work together to implement the most effective treatment plans possible. The program features progressive treatment techniques which include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT). This system is capable of administrating ultra-precise dose of radiation to previously unreachable tumors.

Spinal Disorders

Complex spinal surgery and minimally invasive procedures are performed to treat tumors, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and other spinal disorders. Minimally invasive procedures include kyphoplasty, used to treat painful, progressive vertebral body collapse/fracture (VCFs). The VCFs may be caused by osteoporosis or the spread of tumors to the vertebral body.

Sleep Disorders

Our Sleep Center located in DeLand provides patients with advanced therapies to treat an array of sleep disorders. In fact, our Sleep Disorders Center has earned accreditation through the Joint Commission as well, making our team of experts help patients achieve more normal sleep patterns for a healthier life. A few common conditions we treat include:
